Dec 29 - Jan 1

  • Walk the ruins of Hampi, an ancient city in Karnataka that’s dotted with numerous temple complexes from the Vijayanagara Empire.
  • Be marveled as you see the intricate carving on the humongous 7th-century Virupaksha Temple, near the revived Hampi Bazaar.
  • A carved stone chariot stands in front of the huge Vittala Temple site and this will leave you baffled, wondering about the extremely skilled craftsmen of yesteryears!
  • Head on a day tour from Hampi to Badami, the erstwhile capital town of the Chalukyas Kingdom. Yet another mind-boggling destination, this ancient city is famous for its red colored rock cut temple located in a ravine at the foot of a huge red stone mountain.
  • For the New Year’s eve, experience camping above the gorge in Gandikota, yet another marvelous, ancient fort city. It houses a magnificent landscape, a ravine formed by river and mountain, earning it the nickname “India’s Hidden Grand Canyon”.
  • We will also visit The Belum Caves, India’s largest and longest cave system enroute!
